Nor-Cote was the first Ink Manufacturer to supply UV inks to the Binder and Loose-leaf markets. This market focuses on the decoration of vinyl binders, book cloth, covers, and plastic packaging and sheet materials. Selecting the right ink is dependent upon the substrate and post-print finishing processes such as heat-sealing and die-cutting.
Inks for Polyethylene and Polypropylene Sheet
The Dyno-Cote Series is a one part, NVP Free ink system designed for printing on flat sheet polyethylene and polypropylene materials. This series provides excellent adhesion on many additional rigid substrates. It has increased ink film flexibility giving the printer more confidence for all finishing processes (Die, guillotine, scoring, etc.). The Dyno-Cote is formulated with light fast pigments, allowing for up to 1 year outdoor usage.
Nor-Cote´s 80, 88, and FSL Ink Series have good printability and adhesion to most polyethylene, polypropylene and PVC stock when no heat-seal or edge turn is involved. The 80 Series is a high gloss ink system while the 88 Series is a matte finish ink with the same performance characteristics.
The GN Series is a UV curable ink system specially formulated to achieve adhesion to fluted polyolefin and polyolefin banner materials; with exterior lightfastness and weatherability in mind. It works on a variety of additional materials such as polystyrene, coated and uncoated card stock, rigid vinyl, expanded PVC, pressure sensitive vinyl, ABS, polyester PSA films and some coated metals. The GN Series does not contain N-Vinyl-2-Pyrrolidone. (common name NVP).
The FSL-1056 and FSL-1028 are specially designed White inks exhibiting high gloss and contrast ratio and are ideal for polypropylene materials.
Inks for Vinyl and Book Cloth
When flexibility, heat-sealing, embossing and printing on a folded edge are required, the 02 and 04 Ink Series are the best choice. Both ink lines offer the same colors and are press ready. If a matte ink is required, the 09 Series performs well on some substrates common to the 02 and 04 Series-Please contact Techincal Support for the best ink-substrate compatibility prior to any production runs.
